Dr. Mehrdad Pojhan, Ph.D., C.Psych.

Dr. Mehrdad Pojhan has been a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario since 2010, specializing in clinical and counseling psychology. With over 30 years of professional experience in both clinical and academic settings, Dr. Pojhan provides evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), for a variety of mental health issues. These include depression, anxiety, stress, trauma-related conditions such as PTSD and Complex PTSD, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), phobias, Borderline Personality Disorder, chronic pain disorders, and other health-related concerns. In addition to individual therapy, Dr. Pojhan also conducts comprehensive psychological assessments for individuals affected by motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, and other trauma-related events.
His expertise includes evaluating emotional and cognitive difficulties, and he is well-versed in delivering accurate diagnoses that inform effective treatment planning. Dr. Pojhan's broad experience spans diverse settings, including university-based research, psychology clinics, and forensic environments. His forensic work covers areas such as suicide risk, violent crimes, abuse, sexual harassment, and trauma-related mental health conditions.
Throughout his career, Dr. Pojhan has consistently delivered the highest quality care, grounded in thorough assessments and tailored treatment approaches. His years of experience in academia further deepen his understanding of psychological presentations, enhancing his ability to meet the unique needs of each client. Dr. Pojhan speaks both English and Farsi (Persian) and has extensive experience working with clients from various cultural backgrounds, allowing him to address the sensitivities and complexities of cross- cultural mental health care. He had publications in Farsi in areas such as physiological psychology, neuropsychology, anxiety and stress management, and research methodology.

Dr. Behzad Goodarzi, Ph.D.,C. Psych.
Dr. Behzad Goodarzi is a highly experienced clinical psychologist with over 34 years of professional practice, including more than 21 years in Canada. As a registered clinical psychologist and an autonomous member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, Dr. Goodarzi specializes in adult clinical and counselling psychology. His areas of expertise include treating trauma, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and providing psychotherapy to a diverse clientele, including victims of motor vehicle accidents (MVA) and individuals within correctional facilities.
Dr. Goodarzi is known for delivering high-quality psychological assessments, and providing clear and professional diagnoses for victims of MVAs and individuals in the correctional population. His assessments are integral to treatment planning, ensuring clients receive the necessary support for recovery and rehabilitation. With 18 years of experience working with MVA clients and over 13 years in correctional settings, he has developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by these populations.
Furthermore, Dr. Goodarzi offers services in both English and Persian, making him a valuable resource for multicultural and immigrant communities. His commitment to evidence-based therapies and client-centred care ensures that each individual receives tailored, compassionate, and effective treatment.

As a Registered Nurse Psychotherapist, I provide comprehensive mental health care by integrating nursing expertise with psychotherapy techniques to support clients’ emotional and psychological well-being. My responsibilities include:
• Conducting psychosocial assessments and collaboratively developing individualized treatment plans.
• Delivering evidence-based psychotherapy interventions.
Assess physical symptoms that influence mental health (fatigue, pain, headaches, sleep).
Monitor vital signs or physical indicators if clinically relevant or ordered.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, psychologists, social workers, and case managers, to optimize client outcomes.
• Conducting nursing assessments for clients with chronic pain, including evaluating pain patterns, functional limitations, sleep disturbances, and the interaction between physical symptoms and psychological distress to support integrated, trauma-informed, and mind–body treatment planning.
